Low cost = good value
Staff was super nice. Equipment (carts) are old and worn. Early spring and the course showed it. Recent aeration of greens seems to have been done without top dressing or rolling, leaving them tough to play. Very few bunkers, I never had a bunker shot. Started alone but caught-up with three some and was invited to join. Gene, Bob and Allen were knowledgeable regulars that made the day much more enjoyable. I'll try this course again this summer when it should be much nicer.
Don't waste your money
No attention has been given to this course. The cart paths or horrible the greens are a joke. The rates are incredibly too much for the quality.
Hit 'em Straight or Pay the Price
Cameron Hills is a great place to play if you keep your balls in play, but stray off the fairways and you can find yourself playing from the woods and you are left with nothing more than a punch out or the dreaded declaring the ball unplayable. I enjoy playing Cameron but we had a 5some on the course which should never be allowed and that didn't help the pace of play but all in all, enjoy playing at Cameron. If you are a straight driver of the ball, by all means pull out the big stick but if you have issues with the driver you can get around the course easily and safely with irons in hand and wedges in close. Will play again and have done so for many, many, years.
Good Golf and Challenges worth the coast
I enjoyed Cameron Hills, it offers a little bit of everything.
Greens in great shape
Course was in good shape EXCEPT for all the leaves. They really need to blow leaves off greens and fairways. Made for a long day looking for ball just off of fairway
I like the course and intend on playing here again. It will be added to my rotation of courses.
I had a good time even though it was windy and a bit on the chilli side...
One of many good rounds at Cameron
We enjoyed a nice, fall round of golf. All of us had shots to remember and be proud of. Patty is the BEST! Greens, fairways,& tee boxes were in good shape. Only problem was the amount of leaves on the greens. They might as well have been plugged. I'm sure that's typical for fall golf everywhere, but my uncle had played an area course the day before and said the greens were spotless. Cameron Hills is a great value and course ANYTIME!
love this course
i play here a couple times a month and love the place. their greens are pristine and the course plays beautifully. the staff is always friendly and they have amazing bbq. play this course, you'll thank me.
Great track, avoid the woods, and score. Greens rolled true, and immaculate!
For me, this is a worthwile track to play. I played during the week at noon, so the pace of play was not bad. The starter offered up a "tips" sheet to navigate holes. I played the tips for a number of holes, and scored well. First time playing the course, and plan on returning before it gets too cold.
great shape and value
What a great value. Course in excellent condition, challenging without being out of reach for the everyday golfer. The course turns left, right, uphill and down and as this is cut in a wooded setting, each hole is framed to stand out and challenge your shotmaking skills. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous, and the playing was relaxing (not being pushed or held up. My wife (a very self-conscious golfer) and I had a great round.
A true hidden gem
Nice course
Greens were in great shape. Tee boxes need some attention.
Great deal from Golfnow
Great Value
The course was in very good condition and was cheap to play! It's challenging enough from the tips for good players and also very playable from the other tees for novice players. There are a few holes that can play tricky if it's your first time playing the course.
Very good value for the money
Course was in good shape, especially the greens. Hadn't played there in a few years, but pretty much as remembered. Layout is a bit short, my one complaint is the sight-lines - a bunch of short holes but often hard to see the flags from the fairway. Many blind shots from tee or into greens. Course is on the short side, but watch out for the woods, you can get into a lot of trouble not far from the fairway. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Great course for all levels.
Great layout. Needs to keep its ball cleaners maintained. Great staff. Bathroom needs updated. Fairways and greens maintained. Tee boxes need work.
Great price and value
The only complaint would be that too many twosomes were allowed to tee off separately. They either don't understand ediquite to allow faster groups to go through or they were selfish. We tried to join a twosome in front of us and another behind us without any luck. Slow foursomes impeded a "great day" for golf
Interesting layout. Carts are very old and needs replacing.
Cameron Hills is a nice course, I normally enjoy playing there for a change of pace. Yesterday the course played very slow, which is not the norm.
this course has excellent and consistent greens great place to play and a great value
a great place to play and the staff is very friendly
Great for working on all aspects of your game...
Upon arrival, the staff are very attentive and friendly. The key to this course is to find the fairway, otherwise they don't call it the rough for nothing. Greens are decent. Generally, a nice paced round where other players are respectful enough to allow faster players through. Very happy they joined Golf Now...
Best value course in Virginia
I love this golf course. Excellent conditions, fair price, and the friendliest staff of any course I've been to. It never takes more than 4 hours to play and my foursome always leaves laughing. This track is hidden in rural VA and the locals try to keep it a secret (I would to). Great course and now even better that I can get a discount on GolfNow.
